Louise D. Sasser, age 90, of Swainsboro, formerly of Cairo, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at Emanuel County Nursing Home. Graveside funeral service was held Friday, August 14, at 11 a.m. at Sasser Cemetery in Whigham with Dr. Bob Patterson officiating. Family received friends at the graveside.
Louise, a native of Coffee County, was born September 4, 1935, to the late Henry Darley and Lucille Arnold Darley. She married the late Marvin C. “Buddy” Sasser on December 6, 1952, and they were married 66 1/2 years. Louise spent her entire life devoted to the love and care of her family and is best remembered for her baking. Every Christmas, she made five or six different cakes and sent them to the Cairo Police Department. Coconut seems to hold the fondest memories. Louise was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Whigham. Mrs. Sasser is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her son, M. Franklin Sasser (Tammy) of Garfield; daughter, Carol Dalton (Danny) of Swannanoa, NC; grandson, M. Tyler Sasser (Hannah) of Tuscaloosa, AL; granddaughter, Johanna Dalton of Swannanoa, NC; bonus grandchildren, Libby Neubauer (Colin) of Atlanta and Wil Carr (Heidi) of Kite; and bonus great-grandchildren, Emory and Anson Carr and Charlotte Neubauer.
