Sonny Dekle, age 77, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2026, following an extended illness. A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, September 5, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church with Pastor Jerry Armstrong officiating.
Sonny was born September 10, 1948, in Swainsboro. He was self-employed as a mechanic for many years until he became disabled. Mr. Dekle is preceded in death by his wife, Ollie Mae Dekle; and brothers, Tommy Lee Dekle and Willie Lee Dekle.
Mr. Dekle leaves to mourn his passing with dis daughters, Maria Dekle of Syracuse, NY and Ana Dekle of Twin City; sons, Jerome Dekle (Claudia) of Santonio, TX and Chase Dekle of Twin City; granddaughters, Danielle Dekle of Syracuse, NY, Ciara Dekle and Anaya Dekle, both of Dublin; grandsons, Jerome Ollie-Gael Dekle II of San Antonio, TX and Caden Delke of Dublin; great-grandchildren, Ka’Nari Dekle, Kehlani Mott and Kae’len Coger, all of Syracuse, NY; devoted niece, Melissa Dekle of Statesboro; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
Mosley’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
