Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Renee Glass Wilkerson, age 69, of Swainsboro, on Friday, October 27, 2023, at Emanuel Medical Center. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, conducted by her friends in Swainsboro. A Memorial Service will also be held at a later date for friends and family in Colquitt.

Renee lived in the Southwest Georgia area for much of her life before moving to the Swainsboro area with her husband, where she remained for more than twenty-five years. She was employed at Harvey’s Supermarket for many years until her retirement. Renee enjoyed working with others and being around people. Her customers loved her dearly and never forgot her, as she also spoke very highly of them. Renee loved deeply her family, friends and pretty well everyone. She loved animals and so enjoyed taking care of her precious furbaby, PeeWee. Renee was a kind and caring person, always putting others above herself, always willing to give help, even when she herself needed help. Mrs. Wilkerson is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Wilkerson; parents, William F. Sr. and Bobbye Wood Glass; son, Lee Middleton; and all of her brothers, Billy, Gary, Ricky, Terry and Roger “Kip” Glass.

Survivors include her son, Jeremy Jones of Jacksonville, FL; stepson, Bryce Wilkerson (Becky) of Kite; sister, Crystal Gaulden (Eric) of Donalsonville; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends and neighbors, Miss Toni and Mr. Willard; and many friends in the Swainsboro area that she loved dearly.

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
