TCE celebrated Red Ribbon Week during the week of October 23-27. Students dressed up each day to go along with the daily drug-free theme. This year’s theme was “Be kind to your mind, live drug free!” On Monday, students followed their dreams, not drugs, and came in pajamas. Tuesday’s dress-up theme was “Reading is key to being drug free,” so students dressed as their favorite book characters. On Wednesday, students left drugs behind and dressed in their decades clothing. Thursday’s theme was “Give drugs the boot,” so students came in their favorite pair of boots. Friday’s theme was “We’re crazy about being drug free!” so students showed off their fan pride!

The week also consisted of daily trivia questions on the morning announcements about being drug free. Students could bring their answers to the office for a chance to win a daily prize. The school counselor, Ms. Nikki Green, also created a Red Ribbon Week scavenger hunt for the week, so classes enjoyed completing the drug-free scavenger hunt throughout the school.

Students were given booklets they could complete to win prizes throughout the week, and some students and classes participated in the pumpkin decorating contest. Pumpkins were displayed in the media center throughout the week. There was also a classroom door decorating contest. Congratulations to the winners of these contests!
