Mr. Carvie Claxton III, 35, of Swainsboro, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2024, at his residence. Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 17, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Pastor John Hancock officiating. Interment followed in Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends one hour prior to services.

Pallbearers were Michael Shoemake, Keith Dyches, Caleb Claxton, Travis Claxton, Earon Davis and Dan Dyches.

Carvie was born July 27, 1988, in Dublin, to Carvie Claxton, Jr. and Nancy Flanders Claxton. He loved his family and animals. Carvie enjoyed playing video games and talking to people. He was a member of Beacon of Hope Church of God. Mr. Claxton is preceded in death by his father; maternal grandparents, Johnnie and Mary Flanders; paternal grandparents, Carvie, Sr. and Thelma Claxton.

Mr. Claxton is survived by his mother and stepfather, Bill Mincey of Swainsboro; brothers, Travis Claxton and Caleb Claxton, both of Swainsboro; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
