Det. Young and K-9 Maya achieve certification

National K-9 certification is difficult to achieve and difficult to maintain, and for the past couple of years, Swainsboro Police Department’s K-9 unit has made the mark for National Certification. This certification requires hours of hard work that ends with a one-time practical exercise and if the handler or canine fails any portion of the exam, the certification is void.
