Mr. John W. Bowden, 81, of Canoochee, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024, at The Oaks in Vidalia. Mr. Bowden is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marie Busbee Bowden; brothers, Cleve Bowden and Bobby Bowden; and sisters, Elizabeth Curl, Linda Powell and Clara Skinner.

Survivors include his stepson, Wyatt Johnson (Mandy) of Canoochee; stepdaughters, Kaye Mincey (Jimmy) of Twin City and Susan Rountree (John) of Swainsboro; brother, James Bowden (Frankie) of Cusseta; sister, Alice Davis (Jimmy) of Canton; grandchildren, Mellissa Graham (David), Kara Olliff, Nikki Hayslip (Clay) and Tedi Rountree; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro is in charge of arrangements.
