Mrs. Dawn Jennings Prescott, 61, of Swainsboro, passed away Friday, March 22, 2024, at her residence. Memorial service was held Tuesday, March 26, at 11 a.m. in the chapel at Deloach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home in Waynesboro with Rev. Steve Sirmons officiating. The family received friends Tuesday, March 26, from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at Deloach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home.

Mrs. Prescott was born September 9, 1962, in Buford, SC, to the late Walter Thomas Jennings, Sr. and Faye Cowart Jennings. She was a graduate of Herschel V. Jenkins High School in Savannah and Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta. Dawn worked in the Pathology Department of Memorial Medical Center prior to entering funeral service and later in the OB/GYN practice of Dr. Stephen Cheng. She began her career in funeral service as an apprentice at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors. During her 30+ year career with Fox & Weeks, Dawn was a licensed Funeral Director, manager of the Pre-Need Department and a location manager. Mrs. Prescott is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Walter Thomas Jennings Jr.; and companion, Robbie Sellars.

Mrs. Prescott is survived by her sons, Andrew Prescott (Renee) of Gray, Louisiana and Stephen Prescott of Savannah; daughter, Bailey Sellars (Justin Hynko) of Brooklet; aunt, Ann Farrar of Swainsboro; six grandchildren; several aunts, uncles and many friends.

Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
