Melvin McDaniel, age 91, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Celebrations Assisted Living in Denison, Texas. Family and friends gathered to visit on Monday, March 18, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Home in Denison, TX.

Melvin was born February 28, 1933, in Jefferson County, to the late Ernest and Annie McDaniel. He spent 21 years in the US Air Force and retired in Denison, Texas. Melvin and his brother, Melton, created Mac’s Tax and Bookkeeping in Sherman, Texas. He enjoyed volunteering at Perrin Air Force base museum until 2022. Melvin loved helping others. He was married to the love of his life, Nancy Joan Patton, for 52 years. Mr. McDaniel is preceded in death by his parents; wife; grandsons, Jaron Neans and Christopher Bell; and brothers, Billy, Melton, Johnny and Jimmy.

Mr. McDaniel leaves behind his daughter, Belinda and J.R. Neans of Sherman, Texas; son, Steven McDaniel of Soperton; daughter, Karen Derrick of Sherman, Texas; grandchildren, Angie Derrick, Donald Bell, Adam Neans and Steven Neans; great-grandchildren, Danny, Emry and AJ; and beloved sister, Annette Evans of Swainsboro.

Fisher Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
