George Lee, Jr., age 84, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2024. A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, April 20, at 11 a.m. at St. Philip Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Kenneth Cody officiating and Elder Delmus Mosley presiding. Interment followed in Swainsboro City Cemetery.

George was born October 9, 1939, in Burke County, to the late George Lee, Sr. and Bertha Lee Griffin. After graduation, he attended and completed college courses at Broward Community College in Hollywood, FL. George was a firm and compassionate leader, counselor, supervisor and spiritual mentor to hundreds of employees and patients for over 20 years at South Florida State Hospital. Bishop Lee is preceded in death by his parents; children, George Lee III, Cassandra Blackshear, Sandra Bell and Fred Bell; grandchildren, Melissa, Kenneth and Charnele; and sisters, Jeanether, Mary and Betsy.

Bishop Lee is survived by his loving wife, Rosy Lee; daughters, Regina Lee, Tracy Youngblood (Marion), Debra King (Dwight), Donna Allen (David), Shirley Tisdale (Amos), Andra Hilbert, Lisa Hilbert and Phyllis Wells; sons, Ernest Bell (Renae), Michael Bell and John Holloway (Emma); 25 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mosley’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
