James “Jimmy” Bailey, age 72, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Memorial University Hospital in Savannah. Funeral service was held Friday, May 17, at 10 a.m. at Union Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Collins officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 16, at Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory.

Pallbearers were Steve Graham, Lynn Mullis, David Warnock, Randall Warnock, Dale Fulghum, Ricky Warnock, Jonathan Senn and Terry Crooms. Honorary pallbearers were George Gornto, Charles Scarbrough, Dale Watson, Kelvin Cauley, Richard Stanley, Bert Thigpen, Chuck Harden and John Webb.

Mr. Bailey was born April 2, 1952, in Swainsboro, to the late Reford and Geraldine Hendricks Bailey. He was a lifelong farmer and livestock producer and former owner of Hogan Livestock. Jimmy was a retired area manager with Woodmen of the World. He was a devoted Christian, a member of Pleasant Springs Baptist Church and was an ordained deacon of the Baptist faith. Jimmy was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great friend to many. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, his cows, working, and doing anything he could to help out his friends. Mr. Bailey is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Charlene Bailey.

Mr. Bailey is survived by his wife, Sue Warren Bailey of East Dublin; son, Adam Bailey (Melanie) of Dudley; daughter, Allyson Bracewell (Jonathon) of Cedar Grove; brothers, Larry Bailey of Wrightsville and David Bailey of Smithfield, VA; five grandchildren, Charlene Bracewell (Jacob Clark), Hannah Bracewell (Austin Clark), Henry Bracewell, Addison Bailey and Lane Bailey.

Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
