Emanuel Retired Educators elect new officers

The Emanuel Retired Educators Association held its May meeting at the beautiful Sudie Fulford Center on the campus of East Georgia State College. Following a delicious picnic buffet, President Judy Hendrix welcomed members and special guest, GREA Region 6 Director, Gwen Yarbrough. President Hendrix reported that incoming EREA President Verdell Brinson attended the 64th Annual GREA Convention earlier this month in Athens. Brinson then shared highlights from the convention and announced the many awards EREA received at the annual event. She added that the 2024-25 GREA theme is Hats off to Educators! With that theme in mind, Region 6 Director Yarborough discussed the many hats that educators wear every day and then recognized and installed the 2024-25 officers. They include Verdell Brinson, President; Toney Golden, President-elect; Wanda Ellis, Secretary; Jean Schwabe, Treasurer; and Judy Hendrix, Parliamentarian.
