Ruthie Kirkland Adams, age 84, of Summertown, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2024, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro. A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, June 15, at 3 p.m. at Mosley’s Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Dorothy Smith officiating. Interment followed in Drakes Chapel Cemetery.

Ruthie was born January 27, 1940, in Midville, to the late William and Eunice Louise Kirkland. Mrs. Adams is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Pomp Adams; son, Larry Adams; son-in-law, Lewis Earl Williams; sister, Jessie Pasley; and brother, Sammie Lee Kirkland.

Mrs. Adams is survived by her children, Cynthia Williams of Jesup, Lue (Ricky) Tarver of Wadley, Mae Lois Adams of Summertown, Rickey (Cynthia) Adams of Summertown, Ruthetta Dillard of Midville, Sabrina (Jerry) Fann of Midville and Tyrone (Latriece) Adams of Augusta; sisters, Dorothy Smith of Summertown, William Mae Jones of Alexandria, VA, Betty Gean Barber of Woodbridge, VA, Claudia Mae Badie of Alexandria, VA and Georgia Maynes of Alexandria, VA; brother, Robert Maynes of Alexandria, VA; 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mosley’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
