Mrs. Shirley C. Hooks, 91, of Twin City, passed away Friday, June 28, 2024, at her residence following an extended illness. Funeral services were held Sunday, June 30, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Wiggins officiating. Interment followed at Canoochee Cemetery. Family received friends Saturday, June 29, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Jamie Riner, Seth Riner, Noah Canady, Jeffrey Ozburn, Travis Hill and Benji Johnson.

Mrs. Hooks was born March 11, 1933, in Utica, New York, to the late Bernard J. Clarke and Eleanor Hartnett Clarke. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Shirley enjoyed baking, painting, crocheting and growing roses. She loved an-imals and was a great cook. Mrs. Hooks is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Wil-liam Clarke and Gene Clarke; and sister, Bonnie Clarke.

Mrs. Hooks is survived by her husband, Ricky Hooks of Twin City; son, Robert Canady (Ty-ra) of Covington; daughter, Emily Long of Soperton; grandchildren, Taylore Ozburn (Jeffrey), Rachael Hill (Travis), Noah Canady (Lana Burchett), Cindy Fulford (Caleb) and Jamie Riner (Penny); nine great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
