President Rigel attends Patrick Carr meeting

The Patrick Carr Rangers Chapter, Georgia Society Sons of the American Revolution held its quarterly meeting on Monday night, June 20, at 7 p.m. at the home of President David Har-grove. With President David presiding, they had nine in attendance. President David provid-ed an outstanding meal consisting of a grilled ribeye steak, sauteed onions, baked potato with sour cream and butter, tossed salad with dressing and lemonade, and a slice of cake to top it off. After the invocation by dual member Emory Fennell, he the Pledge to the U.S. Flag and the Pledge to the SAR. President David asked the East Fall Line Region Vice President Dess Smith III to introduce the Georgia Society President Ed Rigel, Jr. President Ed spoke for a few minutes and also told President David how much he enjoyed the meal and said that he might start making all their meetings. VP Dess then called on President Ed to present President David with two Chapter Flag Streamers, the 2023 Georgia Society Membership Award and the 246th Anniversary of the Frederica Naval Action, April 19, 1778, for present-ing the Patrick Carr Rangers Chapter wreath at this event on St. Simons Island on April 20. Dual member Dess Smith III then asked dual member John Derden to give an update on the progress at the Brier Creek Battlefield. SAR member Henry Tinley gave an update on the loca-tion of Gov. David Emanuel’s burial site that has not been found. The next meeting will be at President David’s home on Monday night, September 9, at p.m.
