Family Connection would like to thank the Mill Creek Foundation for their support of our work toward improving Early Childhood Literacy by making a very generous donation to the Emanuel County Ferst Readers program. Every dollar will go toward providing a book a month to the children enrolled in the program here in Emanuel County. These quality books get delivered to the child every month, along with a parent newsletter, until the child reaches their fifth birthday. This community funded program is provided at no cost to the family.

Family Connection will be sponsoring our Ferst Readers Book Character Contest again this year. We are looking for creative folks with a heart for children and who know the importance of reading to them. The online fundraiser will be throughout the month of October and those who are interested should contact Tammy Allen for more details. Last year’s contestants can be viewed on the Emanuel County Family Connection Facebook page for inspiration. So, pick your favorite book character and start getting that costume together. It is a lot of fun and a great way to make a lifelong impact.
