Aubrey Scott’s clutch hitting propels DEA Varsity Lady Eagles to victory over Twiggs Academy

Aubrey Scott drove in four runs on three hits to lead David Emanuel Academy Varsity Lady Eagles past Twiggs Academy 21-2 on Monday. Scott singled in the first inning, scoring two runs, and doubled in the fourth inning, scoring two. The Lady Eagles jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Scott singled, scoring two runs, an error scored two runs, Kate Yeomans doubled, scoring one run, and Brook Fleming singled, scoring one run. The Eagles added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Payton Peebles singled, Bailey McNure doubled, and Yeomans singled, each scoring one run. The Lady Eagles added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Twiggs Academy committed an error, Addalyn Terwilliger singled, and Yeomans singled, each scoring one run. DEA scored eight runs on six hits in the top of the fourth inning. Kyli Bell doubled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, McNure hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Yeomans singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, and Scott doubled, scoring two runs. Bell earned the win for David Emanuel Academy. The right-handed pitcher allowed four hits and two runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out six and walking three. The Lady Eagles tallied 20 hits in the game. Number seven hitter, Yeomans, showed the depth of David Emanuel Academy Varsity Lady Eagles lineup, by leading them with four hits in four at bats. McNure, Terwilliger, Bell, Peebles, Emily McRae, and Kaley Flowers each collected multiple hits for DEA.
