David Emanuel Academy MS Eagles roll past Vidalia Heritage Academy

David Emanuel Academy Middle School Eagles won big over Vidalia Heritage Academy 10-0 on Thursday, August 22. The MS Eagles got on the board in the top of the second inning after Mary Bess Fields singled, Layla Clark walked, Milly Farmer hit into a double play, Rayleigh Faircloth hit an inside the park home run, and Evie Moore doubled, each scoring one run. The MS Eagles scored five runs on three hits in the top of the third inning. Carrie Johnson singled, scoring one run, Sophie Young drew a walk, scoring one run, Blakely Brinson drew a walk, scoring one run, Bailey Duckworth hit into a fielder’s choice, where two runs scored. Rayleigh earned the win for DEA. The starter surrendered zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out eight and walking one. Marlee Johnson, Rayleigh, Kate Yeomans, Carrie, Evie, Mary Bess, and Lara McNure each collected one hit the Eagles. Rayleigh, Carrie, Sophie, Evie, Bailey, and Mary Bess each drove in one run for DEA. Sophie led the Eagles with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, tallying six walks for the game. Mary Bess and Lara each stole multiple bases. David Emanuel Academy MS Eagles ran wild on the base paths, tallying seven stolen bases for the game. They were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Evie made the most plays with eight. Vidalia Heritage Academy turned one double play in the game.
