Mr. Johnny Lee Parker, 75, of Swainsboro, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Memorial Health in Savannah following an extended illness. Funeral services were held Saturday, September 21, at 11 a.m. at Greater St. James Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Bennie Brinson officiating. Interment followed in Swainsboro City Cemetery. The family received friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, September 20, at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Men of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. Honorary pallbearers were deacons of Greater St. James Missionary Baptist Church.

Johnny was born July 12, 1949, in Swainsboro, to the late Samuel Thomas Parker, Sr. and Mary Lou Shoemake Parker. Mr. Parker is preceded in death by his parents; surrogate mother, Minnie Bell Shoemake Stephens Tiller; son, Collis O. Parker; siblings, Samuel Thomas Parker, Jr., John Willie Parker, Arline Parker, James Otis Parker, Mattie Mae Parker, Lee Edward Parker and Bobby Parker, Sr.; sisters-in-law, Agnes Salter-Parker and Alma Worthen-Parker; niece, Tammy L. Parker; and nephew, John Eric “The Governor” Parker.

Mr. Parker is survived by his daughter, Angelia O. Parker; surrogate sons, Michael V. Watson and Shawn L. Watson; brother, Ralph Parker, Sr. (Lutricia) of Swainsboro; sister, Christine Parker of Swainsboro; sister-in-law, Mary E.M. Parker; grandchildren, Johnnkia Parker and Ja’Vonte D. Parker; great-grandchild, Malani R. Parker; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
