Kyli Bell leads the Lady Eagles past Robert Toombs

Kyli Bell collected four hits in four at bats, as David Emanuel Academy Varsity Lady Eagles defeated Robert Toombs Christian Academy Varsity Crusaders 6-2 on Monday, October 7. Bell singled in the second inning, doubled in the fourth inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the sixth inning. The Lady Eagles opened the scoring in the first after Payton Peebles hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run. David Emanuel Academy Varsity Lady Eagles added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after they scored on a passed ball, and Bell singled, each scoring one run. The Lady Eagles added one run in the third, then scored on a passed ball, making the score 4-0. Bell earned the win for David Emanuel Academy. The starting pitcher gave up four hits and two runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out eight and walking four. Meredith Durden took the loss for Robert Toombs Christian Academy Varsity Crusaders. The hurler went six innings, giving up six runs (three earned) on nine hits, striking out four and walking three. Kate Yeomans, the number seven hitter for David Emanuel Academy Varsity Lady Eagles, led the way with two runs batted in. The outfielder went 2-for-2 on the day.

Maddie Joyner and Railee Thomas were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Robert Toombs Christian Academy Varsity Crusaders while hitting back-to-back. Joyner went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Robert Toombs Christian Academy Varsity Crusaders turned two double plays in the game.
