Lady Eagles fall to Trinity Christian despite strong effort From Addalyn Terwilliger

Addalyn Terwilliger collected three hits in four at bats, but David Emanuel Academy Varsity Lady Eagles lost to Trinity Christian Varsity Crusaders 12-7 on Tuesday, October 8. Terwilliger singled in the fourth inning, singled in the third inning, and singled in the sixth inning. The Lady Eagles lost despite out-hitting Trinity Christian Varsity Crusaders 14 to 12. Terwilliger led DEA with three hits. Trinity Christian Varsity Crusaders opened the scoring in the first after Ellie Quick singled, scoring two runs. A walk by Madison Lowery extended the Trinity Christian Varsity Crusaders lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the second inning. The Lady Eagles made the score 4-3 in the top of the third after Payton Peebles singled, scoring one run, Kaley Flowers doubled, scoring two runs, and Terwilliger singled, scoring one run. Trinity Christian flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fourth, scoring five runs on five hits to take the lead, 8-7. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Lily Kidd following a 6-pitch at-bat that drove in two. Allie Baggett earned the win for Trinity Christian Varsity Crusaders. Aubrey Scott took the loss for David Emanuel Academy. The hurler went six innings, giving up 12 runs (four earned) on 12 hits, striking out three and walking six. The Lady Eagles piled up 14 hits in the game. Kyli Bell, Emily McRae, and Flowers each collected multiple hits for David Emanuel Academy. Trinity Christian Varsity Crusaders piled up 12 hits in the game.
