The following occurred during the Emanuel County Superior Court July 2024 term:

Dominique Butler, repeat offender, negotiated a guilty-alford plea on one count aggravated assault. He was fined $50 with 25 years, 10 years to serve, bal. prob; one count possession of firearm/knife during commission of crime with 5 years probation to run consecutive with count one; one count possession of meth with 3 years to serve to run concurrent with count one; one count possession of marijuana less than ounce with 12 months to serve to run concurrent with counts one and three; one count possession of drug related objects with 12 months to serve to run concurrent with counts one and three; one count possession of drug related objects with 12 months to serve to run concurrent with counts one and three. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 25 years, with the first 10 years to be served in confinement and the remainder to be served on probation. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody as determined by the custodian. The above sentence may be served on probation provided the defendant shall comply with the Conditions of Probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence. Upon service of 10 years, the remainder of the sentence may be served on probation; PROVIDED, that the defendant shall comply with the conditions of probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence. The Court sentences the defendant as a recidivist under O.C.G.A. § 17-10-7(a).

Kyle Edenfield, repeat offender, negotiated a guilty-alford plea on one count burglary – 2nd degree. He received 5 year’s probation, complete the way up. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 5 years to be served on probation. The above sentence may be served on probation provided the defendant shall comply with the Conditions of Probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence. The Court sentences the defendant as a recidivist under O.C.G.A. § 17-10-7(a).

Paul Reinberg, repeat offender, negotiated a guilty plea on one count financial transaction card fraud with 2 years to serve; one count financial transaction card fraud with 2 years, 1 year to serve, bal. prob. to run consecutive with count one; one count financial transaction card fraud. He was fined $50 with 2 years probation to run consecutive with count two. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 6 years, with the first 3 years to be served in confinement and the remainder to be served on probation. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody as determined by the custodian. The above sentence may be served on probation provided the defendant shall comply with the Conditions of Probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence. Upon service of 3 years, the remainder of the sentence may be served on probation; PROVIDED, that the defendant shall comply with the conditions of probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence. The Court sentences the defendant as a recidivist under O.C.G.A. § 17-10-7(a).

Paul Reinberg, repeat offender, negotiated a guilty plea on one count criminal attempt to commit financial transaction card fraud. He one year to serve. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 1 year. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody as determined by the custodian. The Court sentences the defendant as a recidivist under O.C.G.A. § 17-10-7(a).

He was fined $1,000 with 30 years, 10 years to serve, bal. prob; one count possession of marijuana less than an ounce with 12 months to serve to run concurrent with count one. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 30 years, with the first 10 years to be served in confinement and the remainder to be served on probation. The above sentence may be served on probation provided the defendant shall comply with the Conditions of Probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence. Upon service of 10 years, the remainder of the sentence may be served on probation; PROVIDED, that the defendant shall comply with the conditions of probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence. The Court sentences the defendant as a recidivist under O.C.G.A. § 17-10-7(a).

Thomas Self, repeat offender, negotiated a guilty-alford plea on one count possession of meth with intent. He was fined $500 with 30 years, 3 to serve, bal. prob. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 30 years, with the first 3 years to be served in confinement and the remainder to be served on probation. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody as determined by the custodian. The above sentence may be served on probation provided the defendant shall comply with the Conditions of Probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence. Upon service of 3 years, the remainder of the sentence may be served on probation; PROVIDED, that the defendant shall comply with the conditions of probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence. The Court sentences the defendant as a recidivist under O.C.G.A. § 17-10-7(a).

Thomas Self, repeat offender, negotiated a guilty-alford plea on one count theft by taking. He was fined $50 with 5 years, 3 years to serve, bal. prob.; one count theft by taking with 5 years probation to run consecutive with count one; one count theft by taking with 5 years probation to run consecutive with count two. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 15 years, with the first 3 years to be served in confinement and the remainder to be served on probation. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody as determined by the custodian. The above sentence may be served on probation provided the defendant shall comply with the Conditions of Probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence. Upon service of 3 years, the remainder of the sentence may be served on probation; PROVIDED, that the defendant shall comply with the conditions of probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence. The Court sentences the defendant as a recidivist under O.C.G.A. § 17-10-7(a).

Jeremy Lane negotiated a guilty-alford plea on one count burglary in the 1st degree. He was fined $50 with 20 years probation, enter and complete inpatient rehab; one count impersonating an officer with 5 years probation to run concurrent with count one. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 20 years to be served on probation. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody from 11/20/21-10/16/24. The above sentence may be served on probation provided the defendant shall comply with the Conditions of Probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence.
