After a rough three weeks, David Emanuel Academy brought some dynamite into

Friday night’s game against Memorial Day. The Eagles soared right by the

Matadors to the tune of 44-12 on Friday, October 25th. Considering the Eagles

have won three contests by more than 30 points this season, Friday’s blowout

was nothing new.

Clayton Hood continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 156

yards and four touchdowns on only 11 carries, while also picking up 44 receiving

yards and a touchdown. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an

impressive 100.5 rushing yards per game. Sailor Powell also helped with two

touchdowns in total.

David Emanuel Academy wouldn’t let Memorial Day keep a hold of the ball as

they managed to force three fumbles. The Eagles can thank Tucker Free and

Jace Farmer for forcing all of them.

Friday’s victory snapped David Emanuel Academy’s losing streak at three games

and leaves them with a 3-4 record.

Friday’s game was Homecoming for the Eagles. After the hurricane caused DEA

to reschedule games, HOCO festivities were postponed. The Eagles enjoyed a

‘);

day full of festivities including a parade, banner competition, and pep rally. David

Emanuel crowned their Homecoming King and Queen on Friday as well.

Congratulations to Clayton Hood and Kyli Bell!

Players of the week for David Emanuel:

Offensive Player of the Game: Offensive Line – Jaxson Wiggins, Jonah Boatright,

Brody Fleming and Mason Williams: 347 Total Yards, 7 Touchdowns, 0 Sacks

Defensive Player of the Game: Tucker Free: 6 Tackles, 1 TFL, 1 Sack, 2 Caused

Fumbles

Special Teams Player of the Game: Bryan Beasley: 2 Tackles, 1 Blocked Punt

Practice Player of the Week: Nolan Powell

Ware’s BBQ, MVP: Clayton Hood: 156 Rushing Yards, 4 TDs, 44 Receiving

Cheerleader of the Week was Addalyn Terwilliger and Cheerleader of the Game

was Lyla Martin. These girls work hard, have positive attitudes and are eager to

help wherever they can!

David Emanuel Academy has the luxury of staying home for another week and

will welcome Fullington Academy at 6 p.m. on Thursday. This is DEA’s Senior

Night. Seniors will be recognized at halftime.
