Grand jury returns 21 true bills, 1 no bills

The October 2024 term of the Emanuel County Grand Jury reconvened on Friday, December 13, 2024. The District Attorney’s Office presented 22 bills of indictment to the Grand Jury, with the Grand Jury returned 21 true bills and 1 no bill.

The Emanuel County jail was inspected by the Grand Jury, as required by law.

True bills included:

Alexandria Shanay Johnson: Exploitation and intimidation of disabled adult, elder person, or resident

Chavarious Demon Knight: Fleeing or attempting to elude police officer; Driving while license suspended; Driving on suspended, canceled or revoked registration

Spencer Thaddeus Huck: Burglary in the first degree; Criminal trespass

Rebeca Denise Hunter: Sale of cocaine

Davardrion Shemar Lipsey: Fleeing or attempting to elude police officer; Theft by receiving stolen property; Possession or firearm by first offender probationer

Ronald Shaye Shepard: Theft by deception

Joshua Deshawn Kelly: Driving under the influence (less safe) (alcohol)

Andrew Branson Self, III: Battery, family violence (x3); Cruelty to children in the third degree (x2)

Eric Bernard Greene, Jr.: Fleeing or attempting to elude police officer; Possession of a schedule I controlled substance; Possession of marijuana, less than an ounce; Driving under the influence; Obstruction of an officer; Open container

Austin Paul Lariscey: Burglary in the first degree; Possession of illegal weapon; Possession of firearm by convicted felon

Alverso Lekeith Knight: Possession of cocaine; Theft by receiving stolen property; Possession of marijuana, less than an ounce; Possession of drug related objects; Possession of firearm by convicted felon

Tyler Colbert Lockett: Fleeing or attempting to elude police officer; Possession of firearm by convicted felon

Marc Engel Robin: Theft by deception (x2); Executing fictitious checks (x2)

Lashawn Raypaul Shanks: Aggravated assault

Melvin Holder: Failure to register as sex offender

Octavious Nyjoun Freeman, Derrick Nicholas Harden, Kamijha Nikeria ONeal and Eddie Roberts: Possession of schedule II controlled substance (All); Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute (Freeman); Obstruction of an officer (Freeman); Possession of drug related objects (Freeman); Possession of firearm during commission of a felony (Freeman); Possession of firearm by convicted felon (Freeman); Possession of marijuana, less than an ounce (Harden); Possession of firearm during commission of a felony (Harden); Speeding (ONeal)
