Mrs. Lynn Thompson Wright, 73, of Swainsboro, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Emanuel County Nursing Home. Funeral services were held Saturday, January 25, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Joe Bedgood officiating, assisted by Reverend Cail Pressey. Inurnment was at Eastbrook Cemetery and Mausoleum. Family received friends one hour prior to service.

Pallbearers were Wade Gibson, Kip Gibson, Bobby Brightwell, Raymond Wiley, Brian Carter and William Roberson. Honorary pallbearers were Emanuel Medical Center Volunteers.

Lynn was born May 3, 1951, in Millen, to William H. Thompson, Sr. and Margaret Beasley Collins. She was a member of Hawhammock Baptist Church. Lynn retired from R.J. Reynolds as a retail representative. She enjoyed volunteering at the hospital and spending time with her heart, her grandson, Landon. Ms. Thompson is preceded in death by her father; and brother-in-law, Bob Turner.

Ms. Thompson is survived by her mother, Margaret Collins (Russell) of Swainsboro; son, Shane Carter of Swainsboro; brother William H. Thompson, Jr. (Robin) of Arizona; sisters, Diane Turner of St. Simons Island, Connie Wiley (Raymond) of Covena, Cathy Powell (Jeff) of Wrightsville and Wanda Simmons (Rusty) of Twin City; grandson, Landon Carter of Athens; daughter-in-law, Amy Carter of Swainsboro; nieces, Christi Gibson and Amanda Mormon; nephew, Wes Thompson.

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors was in charge of arrangements.
