Officers with the Swainsboro Police Department (SPD) reported…

January 17

Officers were dispatched to elaine Dr. in reference e to guns and illegal drugs for recovery. Complainant stated she purchased two storage lockers in Statesboro and found three guns, scales and unknown illegal substances. One gun came back stolen, and the illegal substances tested positive for molly and meth.

Officer responded to EMC ER in reference to an assault that had taken place at Stockyard Restaurant. Victim and witness stated victim was jumped by three unknown males as he was walking into the restaurant. Witness stated offenders had been at a bar drinking and were asked to leave because they were causing a disturbance and were being escorted out. Witness stated as offenders were being escorted out and still causing a disturbance, victim was walking in and said “hey” in an attempt to get their attention, and one offender hit vic-tim in the face and the other two started hitting victim. Witness stated she then sprayed of-fenders with pepper spray, and they got into a vehicle with a female and left. Witness then took victim to the ER. Victim gave the same statement as witness, other than saying he said “hey” in a loud voice.

Officer spoke with complainant who stated a vehicle was pumping gas and drove off with the nozzle in her vehicle.

January 18

Officer received a complaint from a concerned citizen about a vehicle being parked in the rear parking area of the complex. C/p stated she spoke with an officer about the vehicle being parked in the same location and when she would return, the vehicle would leave. Officer ob-served the vehicle occupied multiple times filled with smoke and a strong odor of marijuana coming from it. Officer observed three male subjects in the vehicle and made contact with them.

Officer was dispatched to WalMart in reference to shoplifting.

January 19

Officers were dispatched to Grady St. in reference to a child being taken form home by her father without the mother being notified. The father advised he did not know the mother didn’t know their daughter was leaving.

Officer was dispatched to Allen St. in reference to a domestic dispute, Male subject stated he and his niece had been in a verbal argument, and she hit him. Officer could smell alcoholic beverage coming from complainant’s person and he advised he had been drinking. Female subject exited the residence being very loud and did not want to listen to officers to calm down and stated c/p hit her. Both were placed under arrest.

January 20

911 dispatched officers to D&I for a female attempting to fight another female in the parking lot. Complainant stated offender was trying to pull her door open. Offender had active war-rants and was transported to EmCo Jail.

January 21

Officer was dispatched to Mason Dr. in reference to complainant stating someone was fol-lowing him. C/p advised someone was sending him messages and following him and pro-vided messages leading to c/p being harassed.

January 22

Officer observed a vehicle with expired registration and no valid insurance, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Vehicle was towed.

January 23

911 dispatched officers to Mason Dr. in reference to a stolen firearm. Complainant stated his firearm was missing.

January 24

Officer observed a vehicle with defective tag lights, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. The driver was in possession of marijuana less than an ounce and was cited.

Complainant stated she went to Dollar Tree and has not seen her purse since that day and went there twice asking them to review camera footage, but they didn’t seem like they cared.
