Shirley Ann Brown, age 70, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 27, 2025, at her home with her devoted husband by her side. A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, February 1, at 11 a.m. at Rountree Chapel Baptist Church in Twin City.

Shirley was born October 28, 1954, in Candler County, to the late Lester Williams and Janie Clark Williams. She graduated from Emanuel County Institute in 1973 and later pursued ear-ly childhood education at Swainsboro Technical College. Shirley’s passion for nurturing young minds led her to a career working in childcare for over 15 years before retiring in 2013.

Shirley was the heart of her family, a caring and compassionate matriarch with a warm spirit, an infectious sense of humor and a deep love for those around her. She touched countless lives with her kindness and wisdom. Mrs. Brown is preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Geraldine Williams and Gloria Harper.

Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband of 51 years, George Earl Brown; sons, Tyrone Brown (Nosha) of Millen, Frisco Brown (Kenetra) of Atlanta, Jamar Brown of Statesboro and Dominic Brown of Twin City; eight grandchildren; six siblings; and a host of nieces, nephews and cous-ins.

Mosley’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
