Mrs. Sarah Scott Lamb, 85, of Swainsboro, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Emanuel County Nursing Home following an extended illness. Graveside service was held Saturday, March 15, at 11:30 a.m. in Swainsboro City Cemetery with Reverend Tommy Hen-ry officiating. Family received friends Saturday, March 15, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Durden Hudson Funeral Directors.

Sarah was born February 10, 1940, in Swainsboro, to Robert and Gertie Scott. She was a member of Oak Chapel Baptist Church for many years. Sarah enjoyed cooking, needlework, puzzles, antiquing, and caring for her family and friends. She was employed at Levin’s De-partment store and Western Sizzlin Restaurant for many years. Mrs. Lamb is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 57 years, Kerney Lamb; son, Jeff Lamb; brothers, Robert Scott, Jr., Wayne Scott, Harry Scott, Cecil Scott and Bernard Scott.

Mrs. Lamb is survived by her son, Keith Lamb (Kim) of Swainsboro; grandchildren, Chase Lamb of Cordele and Hilary Evans (Wilkes) of Bonaire; great-grandchildren, Paisley Brown, Lawson Evans and Logan Lamb; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked for donations to be made to: Swainsboro Gideon Camp, P.O. Box 365, Swainsboro, GA 30401 and/or the Emanuel County Nursing Home’s Activity Fund, c/o EMC Nursing Home, 117 Kite Road, Swainsboro, GA 30401.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Emanuel County Nursing Home Nurses and Staff and Pruitt Health Hospice for all of their wonderful care of their mother.

Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
