Every year, the Georgia Department of Education honors students who have carried exemplary course loads during their four years of high school, performed excellently in all courses, successfully participated in interscholastic events within their schools and communities, and assumed leadership roles in extracurricular activities sponsored by their schools.

Emanuel County Schools is pleased to announce that two students from the county have received this honor: Allie Rigdon from Emanuel County Institute and Bo Brown from Swainsboro High School.

In a recent press release, State Superintendent Richard Woods stated, “Congratulations to the 145 outstanding students honored as Georgia Scholars this year!” “This prestigious recognition identifies students who go above and beyond in all aspects of life – both within the school walls and in the community. I wish them great success in their futures and can’t wait to see the impact they make on our state, nation, and world.”

In response to the announcement, Superintendent Dr. Denise Warnock said, “We are incredibly proud of Allie Rigdon and Bo Brown for being recognized as Georgia Scholars. Their hard work, dedication, and leadership exemplify the values we strive to instill in our students. This honor reflects not just their academic excellence but also their commitment to making a positive impact in our schools and communities. Congratulations to both students on this well-deserved recognition!”

Allie and Bo will receive a diploma seal and a graduation cord in recognition of their achievements in the Georgia Scholar program, which acknowledges their excellence in both school and community life.
