The following occurred during the Emanuel County Superior Court January 2025 term:

Anthony Bender, repeat offender, negotiated a guilty-alford plea on one count aggravated assault (reduced) obstruction. He was fined $10,000 with 5 years probation to run consecutive with count two; one count fleeing and eluding with 10 years to serve; one count theft by taking with 5 years probation to run consecutive with count two, CC CT. 1; one count interference w/gov’t property with 5 years probation to run consecutive with count two, CC CT. 1. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 15 years, with the first 10 years to be served in confinement and the remainder to be served on probation. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody as determined by the custodian. Upon service of 10 years, the remainder of the sentence may be served on probation; PROVIDED, that the defendant shall comply with the conditions of probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence. The Court sentences the defendant as a recidivist under O.C.G.A. § 17-10-7(a).

Dadge Franklin, repeat offender, negotiated a guilty-alford plea on one count possession of firearm by convicted felon. He was fined $100 with 10 years probation, 62 days in county jail. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 10 years to be served on probation. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody from 1/12/25 – 3/18/25. The above sentence may be served on probation provided the defendant shall comply with the Conditions of Probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence. The Court sentences the defendant as a recidivist under O.C.G.A. § 17-10-7(c).

Legarion Early negotiated a guilty-alford plea on one count loitering with 12 months probation; one count obstruction with 12 months probation to run concurrent with count one; one count possession of firearm by convicted felon with 10 years prob., completion of redirection and $250 fine to run concurrent with count one. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 10 years to be served on probation. The above sentence may be served on probation provided the defendant shall comply with the Conditions of Probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence.

Daylon Vickers negotiated a guilty-alford plea on one count fleeing and eluding with 10 years to serve; one count driving without a valid license with 12 months probation and $50 fine to run consecutive with count one; one count obstruction with 12 months probation to run consecutive with count two; one count speeding with 12 months probation to run consecutive with count three. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 13 years, with the first 10 years to be served in confinement and the remainder to be served on probation. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody as determined by the custodian. Upon service of 10 years, the remainder of the sentence may be served on probation; PROVIDED, that the defendant shall comply with the conditions of probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence.

David Johnson negotiated a guilty plea on one count possession of meth. He was fined $500 with 3 years probation, enter and complete rehab. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 3 years to be served on probation. The above sentence may be served on probation provided the defendant shall comply with the Conditions of Probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence.

Phillipe Riner negotiated a guilty-alford plea on one count theft by taking. He was fined $50 with 5 years probation, serve 180 days in EmCo Jail. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 5 years to be served on probation. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody from 9/20/24 – 3/19/25.
