Mrs. Linda Gail Ricks, 67, of Swainsboro, passed away Friday, April 18, 2025, following an extended illness. A Celebration of Life was held Tuesday, April 22, at 2 p.m. at Springhill Baptist Church.

Linda was born August 16, 1957, in Swainsboro. to Melvin Nunn Sr. and Edna Smith Brown. She attended Swainsboro High School and received a GED from Swainsboro Technical College. Linda later attended classes at Swainsboro Tech for nursing. She cherished the 35+ years spent with her loving companion Harold Sullivan. Linda enjoyed sewing, fishing, crocheting, crafting and painting. Her happy place consisted of working in her yard, hosting Sunday dinners and spending time with family and friends. Linda was known by “Nanna” not only to her grandkids, but to all she welcomed into her home. Being at Nanna’s house meant quality time filled with laughter, home cooked meals, and making memories to last a lifetime. She was the heart of the family that brought everyone together, even through the toughest of times. Linda’s family was truly the pride and joy of her life. Mrs. Ricks is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Lee Ricks; sons, Jaworski Ricks and Charlie Nunn; daughter, Victoria Ricks; sisters, Martha Morrison and Patricia Reeves; brothers, Donnie Brown, Jr., Robert Session and James Session.

Mrs. Ricks is survived by her companion, Harold Sullivan of Swainsboro; sons, James Nunn of Vidalia and Christopher Ricks of Swainsboro; daughter, Chiquita Nunn of Swainsboro; brothers, Melvin Nunn, David Smith and Ronnie Brown, all of Swainsboro; daughter-in-law, Jessica Ricks of Swainsboro; grandchildren, DeOndria Stafford, Alisia Burrell, Jalaiya Ricks, Jaworski Ricks, Jr., Faith Morris, Jason Easterling, Cleveland Hartmeyer and Jaylen Ricks; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
