Mrs. Mary Alice Coleman, 86, of Swainsboro, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2025, following an extended illness. Funeral services were held Thursday, April 17, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Mr. Mace Henry officiating. Family received friends one hour prior to services. Interment followed at Antioch Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Brett Henry, Chad Henry, Dave Henry, Chet Chester, Jason Henry, Wesley Beasley. Honorary pallbearers were Mrs. Mary’s great-nephews.

Mrs. Mary was born January 3, 1939, in Twin City, to James H. Henry and LaRita Wright Henry. She was a 1957 High School graduate and was employed by Argo Mills for 36 years. Mrs. Mary was of the Baptist faith. She loved her pets, family and dancing in the mornings to Y96. Mrs. Coleman is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 36 years, George Ray “Buck” Coleman; brothers, Wright Henry, Jimmy Henry, Jeff Henry, Charlie Waller and Ned Waller; and stepmother, Julia Henry.

Mrs. Coleman is survived by her son, Tim Coleman (Teresa) of Swainsboro; granddaughter, Paige Coleman of Swainsboro; brother, Cooper Henry (Zebe) of Twin City; sisters, Donna Neal (Jimmy) of Twin City, Dot West of Swainsboro; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Antioch Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery or Emanuel Medical Center Nursing Home Foundation,117 Kite Road, Swainsboro, GA 30401.

Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
