Mrs. Jeanette Peebles Glisson, 88, of Swainsboro, passed away Saturday May 3, 2025, at Azalea Health and Rehab in Metter following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 7, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Jamie Archer officiating.

Interment will follow at Blundale Baptist Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Walker, Randall Peebles, Ricky Peebles, Corbin Wiggins, Riner Wig-gins and Ray Henry.

Jeanette was born January 8, 1937, to the late John Raney Peebles and Mable Poole Peebles. She was known to her family as Mama, Nannie, Shug and Aunt Jeanette. Jeanette was married for 67 years and her greatest joy as a homemaker was making her home a place for family to gather, love and laugh. If you ever had a conversation with her, she most likely shared a story about her children or grandchildren. She was one of a kind. Jeanette had a wonderful sense of humor, loved wearing bright colors and all kinds of hats. Since the loss of her sight 18 years ago, Jeanette enjoyed talking with her friends on the phone. Mrs. Glisson is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jamison Franklin Glisson; sisters, Mary Ella Walker and Maggie Walker; and brothers, J.R. Peebles and James Peebles.

Survivors include her daughters, Deborah Faircloth of Dublin and Donna Bellamy (Tony) of Swainsboro; grandchildren, Daniel Faircloth (Dana), Shane Faircloth (Jamie), Jamye Clark and Ashton Bellamy (Libby); great-grandchildren, Haley Faircloth, Layla Clark, Jackson Clark, Blayne Webb and Lynnley Bellamy; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

The family would like to express their love to her special friend Mary Lou Henry for being her “sister” and to her caregiver and friend, Eva Nell Brown for her love and support. Along with her daughters, she was loved by and cared for by her special niece Connie Peebles.

Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro is in charge of arrangements.
