Durden Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. Ray Lofton “Buddy” Smith, 66, of Twin City, who passed away Friday, May 2, 2025, at Twin View Health and Rehab. Graveside Service was held Monday, May 5, at 2 p.m. at Sardis Cemetery with Reverend Gil-bert Posey officiating. Family received friends Monday, May 5, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Durden Hudson Funeral Directors.

Buddy was born August 23, 1958, in Savannah, to the late Johnny Ray Smith and Mary Nell Trull Smith. He loved airplanes and being outdoors. Buddy especially loved his family and enjoyed eating. Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his parents; niece, Teri Smith; and nephew, Michael Smith.

Mr. Smith is survived by his brothers, Ricky Smith (Lucille) of McRae, Kenneth Smith (Ann) of Canoochee, James Smith of Savannah and John Smith (Samantha) of Swainsboro; sister, Arlene Phillips (Wayne) of Soperton; nephews, Ron Wommack and John Wommack; niece, Stephanie Lemaster; special aunts, Mary Johnson and Sarah Overstreet; and many friends.

Durden Hudson Funeral Directors was in charge of arrangements.
