Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) Cadet Pace Cooper received the Sons of the American Revolution bronze medal JROTC award at the Millen Community House at the JROTC Eagle Battalion award ceremony held on April 18. Brier Creek Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution President Lee Herron presented the award to Cadet Cooper. In addition to the bronze medal and ribbon, Cadet Cooper received a certificate from The National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution which cited his “outstanding leadership qualities, military bearing and excellence, thus exemplifying the high ideals and principles which motivated and sustained our patriot ancestors. In Addition, a U.S. Flag Certificate was given to the Jenkins County High School JROTC Eagle Battalion. The “Certificate of Commendation” was given by Brier Creek President Lee Herron in recognition of exemplary Patriotism in the display of the Flag of the United States of America in the correct way. Recognizing people, businesses, organizations and the government with a U.S. Flag Certificate is a project of the Sons of the American Revolution. The Brier Creek Chapter began presenting these certificates in 2018 and this project is an ongoing project of the Brier Creek Chapter, the GASSAR, and the NSSAR and we will be honoring others with this certificate.
