In May of 2020, Michael Bright opened the Music Memories Museum. Since then, guests from 50 states and 20 countries have signed the guest book…quite remarkable!
Music Memories Museum Facebook page has over 11,000 followers. The Museum has been seen on TV on all four networks – ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX as well as being acknowledged in many national magazines. “We’re one of the few museums that still have FREE ADMISSION. I started collecting music memorabilia in the 1980s. The museum showcases my private collection of over 250 authentic items once owned by the biggest names in the music industry including country music, rock-n-roll and R&B from the 1950s to present date. There are 70 items in the museum custom tailored by world famous designer Nudie Cohn,” commented Bright. Michael’s mission is to help preserve music history. Michael quoted, “There is so much music history here in Swainsboro – such as Brenda Lee who is famous for the song “Rockin Around The Christmas Tree”. She had her first paid performance here on the Nancy Auditorium Stage. Also, Hank Williams Jr. had his first live performance on the same stage.” The museum is located inside Main Street Market Antique Mall 215 West Main St., Swainsboro, Ga.
