Rosie Pearl Sanders Freeman, age 92, passed away Monday, June 23, 2025. A Celebration of Life was held Sunday, June 29, at 12 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Apostolic Faith with Bishop Willie Freeman officiating and Minister Guy Akins presiding.
Rosie was born January 5, 1933, to the late Beulah Wadley Sanders and Elgin Sanders. He hobbies included cooking, fishing, sewing and gardening. Rosie retired from the Duval School System after 29 years of service. She married the love of her life, Harrison Freeman, on November 22, 1952, at the age of 19, and they were married for 34 years until his passing in 1986. Rosie later returned to Swainsboro to care for her mother. Mrs. Freeman is preceded in death by her parents; her only child, Hal C. Freeman; grandson, Hal Foots; brother, Arthur Lee Sanders; sisters, Annie Willie Rainey and Elnita Sanders.
Mrs. Freeman is survived by her brother, Van Wadley of Swainsboro; grandson, Byron Foots of Swainsboro; granddaughters, Youlanda Michele (Troy) Hendy, Rosemary (Stanlii) Davis, both of Jacksonville, FL, Brooke Freeman of North Augusta, SC and Danielle Foots of Lithonia; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
