Kathleen was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. Ms. Cowart is preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Robert Johnson Jr., Dick Johnson, James Johnson and Bessie Williams.

Ms. Cowart is survived by her daughter, Laura Rhoden (Ed); son, Tony Cowart (Phyllis); grandchildren, Misti Strickland, Michael Cowart, Kyle Cowart, Troy Cowart and Taylr Sams; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.
