Swainsboro Police Department held its Annual Scavenger Hunt program during the entire month of June into the third week of July. Each year, SPD hosts a “find a rock” Scavenger Hunt program for children 5-12 years of age with some restrictions: ages 5-12 and one winner per child. Each officer hid a painted rock with his or her badge number inscribed on it inside the city limits of Swainsboro. Clues were posted through agency Facebook page with each officer giving up to three clues for the public to decipher and hopefully locate the rock to turn in for a prize. This year, the agency gave a new clue every day to help find all the hidden treasures. Once the rock was found, the clue was marked as found. A prize was given for every found treasure and a grand prize provided by Vyve Broadband. Piper McNeely found the first hidden rock at the Community Center Park; Jaxson Hudson found rock #2 at Bleu Belle Shop; Grayson Brinson found rock #3 at Tea String; Marlee Johnson found rock #4 at the 24 Hour store; Jensen Hudson found rock #5 at the city limits of Swainsboro; Grayson Polan found rock #6 Southern Gents Hair Salon; Margot Boatright found rock #7 at the new tag office; Rayla Seays found rock #8 at T-Mobile; Nash Davis found rock #9 at Franklin Memorial Library; Clayton Logan found rock #10 at Scoops; Luna Velazquez found rock #11 at Dairy Queen; Wyatt Logan found rock #12 at Swainsboro Golf Course; Grayson Hooks found rock #13 at the Magic Mall; Kyson Hostilo found rock #14 at Swainsboro Ford; Rainee Meadows found rock #15 at Swainsboro Fire Department; Rachelle Stolzfus found rock #16 at Swainsboro Police Department, Savannah Stevens found rock #17 at the Fountain; Ellie Rountree found rock #18 at Ware’s BBQ; Mason Watkins found rock #19 at State Farm; Austyn Fields found rock #21 at the Cakery; Alijah Garrett found rock #22 at East Ga Tech School; and Millie Watkins found rock #24 at Harmon Park. Rock #20 and #23 were never found. The 2025 Annual Scavenger Hunt grand prize winner was Nash Davis.
The police department staff was extremely excited about the event for the children to enjoy. This program has been a huge success during the last few years and it’s hard to tell who enjoys it the most…the officers, the children or the community. Congratulations to all our winners!
