Bobbie Jean Johnson, age 84, departed life at her home, surrounded by family, on September 15, 2025 after a brief illness. A celebration of life was held Saturday, September 20, 2025 at St. Philip Missionary Baptist Church in Swainsboro at 11 a.m. with Pastor James E. Love and Eulogist Pastor Larry Bernard Sherrod officiating. Ms. Johnson was born in Blundale on March 13, 1941 to the late Mr. Eddie Guyton, Sr. and Mrs. Willie Mae Smith. She joined Trinity Baptist Church at an early age.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Janice Guyton; sisters, Louvana Williams, Lennie Pearl Taylor, Lizzie May Harris and Mary Alice Worthen; and nephew, Willie James Worthen. She is survived by two brothers, Joe Nathan Guyton of Douglas and Eddie Guyton, Jr. of Swainsboro; children, Ruby J. (Bobby) Daniels of North Carolina, Marvin L. Johnson, Lonnie (Mamie) Johnson, Jr., Virginia (Kraig) McKinney, Samantha L. (Tony) McGruder, Craig S. Akins, Bennett Guyton, George (Sherita) Worthen, Vernell Worthen, and Vernon Worthen all of Swainsboro; special sister, Isabell Frazier; special nurse/granddaughter, Crystal Scott; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, friends and other relatives.

Mosley’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
