Mr. Dennis Randolph Weaver, age 78, was called Home to our Savior from his residence in Twin City on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. Funeral service will be held Saturday, October 11, at 11 a.m. at the City of Swainsboro Auditorium with burial to follow in the Swainsboro City Cemetery. Viewing will be Friday, October 10, from 2 to 7 p.m. at Whitaker Funeral Home in Metter with a Wake Service beginning at 6 p.m.
Dennis was born January 25, 1947, in Garfield, to the late Mr. Nodie Weaver and Mrs. Katie Weaver. He attended Emanuel County Elementary and High School in Swainsboro, graduating in 1966. Dennis went on to work at Swainsboro Print Works and Cooper-Wiss. He later attended school to become an over-the-road truck driver before he proudly served as a Deputy Sheriff in Emanuel County for over 30 years. After retiring from full-time service, Dennis continued to work part-time until his health began to decline. He was a hardworking man who loved his work — a man of integrity and compassion.
Dennis joined St. Paul AME Church at an early age, later moving his membership to Parrish Grove Baptist Church. In time, he became spirit-filled and joined Jones Temple Pentecostal Church of Metter, where he served faithfully as an ordained Deacon and musician, playing both the guitar and organ.
Dennis was united in Holy Matrimony to Mrs. Margaret (Joiner) Weaver on March 25, 1967. To this union, four children were born. Mr. Weaver is preceded in death by his loving parents; brother and sister-in-law, Charlie (Julia Mae) Weaver.
Mr. Weaver leaves to cherish his memory with his devoted wife of 58 years, Mrs. Margaret Weaver; daughter, Denise (Mickey) Arthur; three sons, Dennis “Randy” Weaver, Jr., Jabeous (Valoryn) Weaver and Darrel Weaver; seven grandchildren, Deondria (Keno) Brooks of Germany, Naudia Scott, Candace Weaver, Trey Weaver, Zachery Weaver, Cameron Weaver and Simon Weaver; three great-grandchildren, Jade Weaver, Keno Brooks, Jr. and Dallas Brooks; three brothers and four sisters, Amerine Brown, Altanza Weaver, Cora (Richard) Williams, Gerald (Darlene) Weaver, Bernard (Jerry Ann) Weaver and Otis (Veronica) Weaver; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
