Skunk Brigade, Georgia Society Sons of the American Revolution traveled to Twin City to present a living history Revolutionary War program to ECI’s 8th Grade Class of Mrs. Amanda Reynolds on Wednesday, September 24. The program began at 1 p.m., attended by around 25 students. Alton Reynolds and Gary Mason, both members of the Wiregrass Chapter in Swainsboro, talked to the class about what happened during America’s Revolutionary War, the battles that were fought and demonstrated the uniforms, equipment and hardships that our Patriots endured. Students observed the uniforms, equipment and weapons that were used during the war. Students then went outside next to the ECI gym and watched while Gary Mason and Alton Reynolds, with the help of Steve Burke and Dess Smith, demonstrate and fired two of the cannons that the skunk brigade has. Each cannon fired three times each and then a photo was taken with the class. Thanks to Miss Amanda for asking the skunk brigade to share some of America’s history to our young people.
