Daughtry speaks to Four Rivers Patriots

The Four Rivers Patriots Chapter, Georgia Society Sons of the American Revolution held its monthly meeting Thursday night, September 18, at 7 p.m. at Chatters Restaurant in Lyons. With President Joel Keener presiding, they had 18 in attendance. After the invocation, President Keener led the Pledge to the U.S. Flag and the Pledge to the SAR, then called on Dess Smith III to introduce the speaker for the evening, Compatriot Hu Daughtry. Hu and his wife Susan live in Metter, and he is a member of the Mill Creek SAR Chapter in Statesboro. President Joel then inducted A.L. Wilkes into the Four Rivers Chapter as its newest member. Those in attendance from other chapters were Wiregrass members Dess Smith III, Bill Carmichael and John Tapley, Jr.
