On October 19, 2025, the world lost a remarkable soul as Mrs. Corine Gay McNair, age 71, peacefully departed this life at Cobb Medical Center in Atlanta following a brief illness. A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, October 25, at 1 p.m. at Smith Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Rev. Wilbert Kennedy officiating and Rev. Lenard J. Vining presiding.
Corine was born July 3, 1954, in Jenkins County, to the late Jake, Sr. and Georgia Lee Rountree Gay. She received her education in Emanuel County and dedicated her career to various establishments, including Bob’s White Motel, Ithaca, Capro and R&F Marketing, until her retirement. Corine was united in marriage in 1973 to Carlton McNair and they enjoyed a remarkable 35 years together. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend whole warmth, compassion and unwavering support left a lasting impression of all who knew her. Mrs. McNair is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; one sister; and one aunt.
Mrs. McNair is survived by her beloved husband; sons, Carl, Dennis, Jeffery and Frederick; daughters, Georgia P. McNair and Coretha McNair (Donyal), all of Swainsboro; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of extended family and friends.
Mosley’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
