Governor Brian Kemp has issued a state proclamation declaring Sunday, November 2, as Retired Educators Day in Georgia. Members of the Emanuel Retired Educators Association recently joined Emanuel County Commission Chairman Jim Sherrod as he signed a similar proclamation honoring the work of the local chapter of the state organization. The annual celebration not only thanks former educators, but it also brings awareness to the work still being done by so many. Members of the local association remain steadfast in their interest and efforts in promoting and supporting education, as well as the promise and potential of the children in Emanuel County.
