Eddie James (E.J.) Ford, Sr., age 71, departed this life on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Comfort Creek Nursing Home in Wadley. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 12 p.m. at Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Jerry Armstrong and Minister Gladys Whicker officiating. Interment will follow at Green Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Marque Ford, Wilie Holland, Leuntay Starnes, Sergio Davis, Leotis Foster and Howard Hudson, Jr. Flower bearers will be family and friends.

Eddie was born December 15, 1953, to the late Miller Ford, Sr. and Mattie Fields Ford. He joined Noah’s Ark AME Church at an early age. Eddie attended the Emanuel County School System. He was employed with Gunn Wood Yard for many years, then with Rocky Comfort Logging Company in Louisville. Eddie was united in holy matrimony to Sarah Nell Green of Swainsboro, in 1972. Eddie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother-in-law, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Mr. Ford is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Martha Ford Davis, Johnny Ford, Allen Ford and Miller Ford, Jr.

Mr. Ford is survived by his loving wife, Sarah Nell Ford of Swainsboro; three daughters, Feleshia Ford (Joseph), Tamika Freeman (Jerome), both of Swainsboro and Tiffany Daniels of St. Petersburg, FL.; four sons, Kelvin Green (Felicia), Eddie Ford, Jr. (Tamika), Timothy Ford, all of Swainsboro and Daryl Ford (Lashonda) of Statesboro; two sisters, Alice Daniels Wilkerson (Mark) and Lender Bell of Midville. three brothers, Willie Ford (Tameka) of Midville, Albert Ford and Roger Ford, of St. Petersburg, FL.; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; aunt, Lizzie Mims of Washington, DC; sister-in-law, Ann Green of Swainsboro; God sister, Christine Davis of Brunswick; God brother, Wilcher Lewis of Wadley; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jogresan Mortuary, Inc. of Wadley is in charge of arrangements.
