Edna Ruth Fields Lawrence, 77

Edna Ruth Fields Lawrence, age 77, passed away Monday, November 17, 2025. A Celebration of Life was held Friday, November 21, at 1 p.m. at Rountree Island Missionary Baptist Church in Summertown with Rev. James Days officiating and Rev. Richard Washington presiding. Edna was born November 5, 1948, in Emanuel County, to the late Charlie and Daisy Fields. She was educated in Emanuel County and later attended Southeastern Technical College where she studied cosmetology. Edna later became instructor in the same program until she retired.

Mrs. Lawrence is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Jessica Brown; brothers, James C. Brown and Charles Edward Fields.

Mrs. Lawrence is survived by her loving husband, Rev. Richard A. Lawrence; sons, Preston Brown of El Centro, CA, Ronald Lawrence (Leigh) of Atlanta and Rick Lawrence (Vanessa) of Kenbridge, VA; daughters, Melissa Broadwater (Steve) of Augusta, Trecy Bleich (Oliver) of Lorrach, Germany and Belinda Evon Lawrence of Warner Robins; four sisters; two brothers; 15 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special caregiver, Erica Barney.

Mosley’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
