Carther “Fred” Williams, Jr., age 65, of Swainsboro, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2026, at his residence. Funeral services were held Thursday, January 15, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Roy Williams officiating. Interment followed at Swainsboro City Cemetery. Family received friends Wednesday, January 14, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Tony Brown, Larry Washington, Bobby Jackson, Johnny Adams, Benny Troupe and Lucas Troupe.
Fred was born September 4, 1960, in Swainsboro, to the late Carther Williams, Sr. and Cora Bullock Williams. He attended Swainsboro High School. Fred was a forklift operator for Husqvarna before his retirement. He enjoyed sports and loved music. Mr. Williams is preceded in death by his parents; and grandparents, James and Neloise Edwards.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Johnson Williams; son, Gianni K. Foster, Sr.; grandchildren, Gianni K. Foster, Jr., A’mya Foster, Ayanna Foster, Nykeria Williams and Abreah Kirby; sisters, Cheryl Troupe (John), Cathy Williams and Carolyn Lane; sisters-in-law, Gertrude Ricks, Joda Ann Williams and Jacquelyn Smith (Tony); brothers-in-law, Joe Jolphin, Jr. and Mike Morgan (Candace); several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
