The Swainsboro Rotary Club met at the Rustic Grill during the noon hour on Monday, Jan. 12, with President Lynn Brinson calling the meeting to order. There was no old or new business to discuss, so member Herman Middlebrooks introduced his guest and speaker, Lillie Brown, the new Mayor of Swainsboro. Mayor Brown spoke to the club about her vision for Swainsboro and the need to have unity in the community. She talked about the importance of having employment opportunities for our younger generation and types of entertainment for the youth to keep them busy. After her presentation, the meeting was adjourned.
The club will not meet Monday, January 19, 2026, due to the MLK Holiday. The next meeting will be on Monday, January 26.
