Derden speaks to Brier Creek Chapter

The Brier Creek Chapter held its monthly meeting Thursday night, February 5, at Walls Diner in Sylvania at 6:30 p.m. With President Lee Herron presiding, they had 16 in attendance. After President Lee Herron led the Chapter in the Pledge to the U.S. Flag, he led the Sons of the American Revolution Pledge. President Lee then asked the Chaplain to bless the meal, then asked the East Fall Line Region Vice President Dess Smith to introduce the speaker, Compatriot John Derden, to present his program on “From the Articles of Confederation to the Constitution”. John and his wife Carolyn live in Swainsboro and John is a retired History professor from East Georgia State College. John is a member of the Wiregrass Chapter in Swainsboro and a board member of the Brier Creek Revolutionary War Battlefield Association, Inc. After the program, President Lee presented John with a “Certificate of Appreciation.”
